Beautiful Dreamer

It was that day that he began contradicting himself with the silver haired jounin's decision to place the trio in the chuunin exam. He was at first disgusted that the man could just submit his students to that kind of torture...they were just not ready.

Iruka sighed as he continued grading papers, as well as looking over mission reports. His eyes hurt from reading as well as the bright light in the classroom. Groaning in pain he put the pen down and began to massage his temples hoping it would relieve some stress. Sighing he picked up the pen and continued to grade his students work, not to mention he was worry about Naruto. After all, the boy was like his son. Distracted by his thoughts, he didn't notice the sliding glass door open or the sound of footsteps. He didn't notice he had company until they stood in front of him.

"They passed."

Iruka stopped everything he was doing, to look at the silver haired jounin.

"How's Naruto?" He asked.

Kakashi's visible eye crinkled up making it obvious that he was smiling.

"Excited...not a scratch on him. Right now they're receiving their chuunin vests, but he did say something about you taking him out for ramen to celebrate."

Iruka smiled as he shoved all the papers in his desk drawer.

"Are you going to congratulate them?" Kakashi asked.

"Yeah and uphold my promise to Naruto." Iruka responded.

Kakashi simply nodded and walked with Iruka to congratulate the new chuunins.

"I can't believe I'm really a chuunin!" Naruto exclaimed.

Both Sasuke and him had the chuunin vests, they were waiting for Sakura to get hers.

"Naruto!" Iruka greeted as he walked to the blonde haired boy "Congratulations!" he pulled the boy into a tight hug.

"Iruka-sensei, I can't breathe." Naruto choked

Iruka released the boy and turned to Sasuke.

"Congratulations Sasuke, you too Sakura." he said as he watched the pink haired girl approach them.

"Thank you Iruka-sensei." Sakura chirpfully replied.

"Thank you." Sasuke politely said.

"You three did exceptional." the jounin shinobi announced " I am very proud of each of you!"

"Iruka-sensei are you taking me out for ramen to celebrate?" Naruto asked.

Iruka smiled warmly at the boy and nodded. He looked at Kakashi and his two former students.

"I'm proud of you two, I hope I'll see you soon!"

He began to walk out of the building Naruto not that far behind him.

"Bye Kakashi-sensei! Bye Sakura! Bye Sasuke!!" the blonde haired shinobi yelled back at them as he sprinted a little bit to be by his ninja academy teacher's side.

2 hours and 12 servings of ramen later.

"Do you want me to walk you home?" Iruka asked.

"Nah, I'll be okay. I'll see you tomorrow. Oh and thank you Iruka-sensei." Naruto replied as he sped off in the direction of his apartment.

Iruka just smiled warmly as he paid for their food.

' When had it gotten dark?' He wondered.

Knowing he still had papers to grade and mission reports to file he headed in the direction of the academy.

Iruka stopped walking, his hand resting on the kunai holster. His chocolate eyes narrowed in anticipation. What he hadn't been expecting was 4 jounin shinobi from another village to surround him.

"What a pretty little leaf," one sneered, "What are you doing walking all by yourself this late?"

Iruka simply glared at the men. Disgust written clearly over his handsome features. Just as he was about to grab his kunai, the largest man threw him on the ground.

"What do you want?!" Iruka demanded.

The man just smirked as he straddled Iruka's waist, a sadistic smirk on his face.

I think you know exactly what I want." He snarled.
