Author’s Note: ^^ Hello again! Welcome to my second Naruto story! First off, Naruto and all of it’s characters don’t belong to me, so don’t sue me! Second, this is a shounen-ai story, so if you don’t like that kind of stuff, then don’t read it! There is going to be some controversial stuff, so I don’t want any flames about it! Thirdly, I used the song “To Be With You” by Hoobastank and it doesn’t belong to me either. Well, on with the story! I hope you enjoy it!
Chapter 1 – “Your touch”
make me feel again, slide across my skin again,
let me uncover you, to rediscover you,
and i will open up, if you promise to give in,
on this perfect night, let the two of us be one…
***flashback***
The crescent moon shone brightly over the Konoha village that night. It’s beams dimly lighting the streets and the room of the two lovers. Their skin was damp and hot as they lay in the bed, taking in one another. The bed was in shambles, except for the light sheet that covered the now exhausted ninjas. There was a long silence as the younger one gently ran his fingers through his partner’s silvery-gray hair. He looked lovingly into the others eyes and the leaned in gently for a passionate kiss.
“I have to go now…” the younger one whispered into his lovers’ neck.
“I know…” the silver-haired man said sadly. He looked at his lover and slowly ran his finger across the shallow scar that ran across his nose.
“I’ll see you again?” the younger one asked as he sat up and pulled on his clothes. He then pulled his raven hair into a bunch on the top of his head and secured it with a band.
“You know you will, love,” he said as he sat up and ran a hand through his hair, letting if fall over his scarred eye.
“Sleep well my beautiful scarecrow,” the younger dark haired one said as he leapt off of the apartment balcony and onto the roof of another, quickly disappearing into the shadows.
“Swim with the stars lovely dolphin…” the man said quietly as he lay back down in his still warm bed.
***end flashback***
Kakashi walked slowly up to the training ground where he was supposed to meet his pupils that day. As usual, he was very late. He groaned as he noticed Naruto running angrily in his direction. The other two were seated on logs, looking very angry as well.
“Sensei! What is your problem?!” Naruto yelled as he neared Kakashi. His blond hair was shining brightly in the afternoon sunlight.
“You were supposed to be here at ten o’clock Kakashi-sensei,” Sakura reminded him.
“I was up late last night,” was Kakashi’s only reply. He was still daydreaming about the night before and it clouded his mind.
“We might as well have not shown up,” Sasuke said, “It’s twelve right now.”
“One of a ninja’s greatest virtues is punctuality,” Kakashi said, “You should always be on time for everything.”
“But Sensei!” Sakura shouted, “You’re never on time! How are we suppose to learn from you if you’re setting a bad example!”
“Ahh…” Kakashi said, his eye turning up in a semi-circle, “That’s the beauty of this lesson. One day I will be on time, and for every minute that you’re late you’ll have to do 50 laps around the village!” The three students groaned, as did their stomachs.
“Can we eat?!” Naruto yelled, “I want some ramen!!”
“Go ahead,” Kakashi said, “I’ve got some business to attend to anyway…” He turned from his students and gave them a wave as he walked back towards the ninja academy.
“Yay!” Naruto yelled, “Let’s get some ramen!” Sakura spun around to face Naruto quickly, her pink hair fanning out as she turned.
“NO!” Sakura yelled, “No more ramen this week!”
“Sakura’s right,” Sasuke said quietly, “We’ve had enough this week.”
“But it’s only Monday!” Naruto yelled.
“TOO BAD!” the other two ninja’s roared in unison. Kakashi laughed as he listened to his prized pupils squabble over food, just like always.

Iruka sat in the lunchroom of the ninja academy quietly eating his meager cuisine. The younger students talked and laughed about the day’s events; while Iruka ate in silence, listening to his two female co-workers chat. Iruka took a bite of his sandwich and then swiped a raven colored lock of hair back that had fallen down. He gave a slight groan when it once again fell out of place and his two female friends giggled at him.
“Maybe you should wear you hair down, love,” a familiar voice said from behind. Iruka turned bright red as Kakashi wrapped his arms around Iruka’s neck.
“Love?” one of the female ninja’s, the blonde one named Aneko, whispered to her friend. The other one, a brunette named Yumi, just gave Aneko a baffled look and shrugged her shoulders. Iruka noticed their whispers and startled looks and quickly turned red.
“What are you doing?!” Iruka whispered to Kakashi, “We’re in public!” Kakashi’s one eye turned down sadly and he released his forlorn lover. The two women decided to inquire about the situation.
“So Hatake Kakashi,” Aneko said, “Are you dating anyone right now?”
“As a matter of fact,” Kakashi said brightly even though he was hurt on the inside, “I am.”
“And what about you Iruka?” Yumi asked with a sparkle in her eyes. Iruka’s face once again shaded crimson red and he scratched his head.
“Oh no,” Iruka said, cautiously glancing at the silver-haired man beside him, “Not right now.”
“So, you’re embarrassed of me now,” Kakashi said in a low tone. He turned away and began to walk away from the table and out of the lunchroom.
“Excuse me for a second ladies,” Iruka said with a smile, “I have to talk to Kakashi-sensei for a moment.” Iruka hurried up to Kakashi and was shocked at the grim expression on his face.
“You’re just like the rest of them,” Kakashi said in a hateful tone as he walked out the door.
“What do you mean?” Iruka asked cautiously. Kakashi stopped and gave a loud sigh. He slowly turned to his friend and looked deep into his eyes.
“You’re not the first man I’ve been with Iruka,” Kakashi said, “Being a ninja is a lonely job and sometimes you just need someone while you’re out on a mission.”
“But--,” Iruka began, but was interrupted.
“I thought you’d be different,” Kakashi said as he swiped a hand through his silver hair, “I really care about you, and I thought you wouldn’t care what other people thought. But you’re just like the rest of them, afraid of the glances and whispers. They’re not staring because you’re with another man, Iruka. They’re staring because a love like ours is rare to come by.”
“I’m sorry Kakashi,” Iruka said, reaching his hand out and lifting Kakashi’s chin, “I didn’t mean to be like that.”
“I know love,” Kakashi said and his voice echoed in the hall that they were standing in, “But maybe you need to think about this more. Are you willing to give things up to be with me?” Iruka brushed back the strand of dark hair that had fallen down and then looked up at Kakashi’s masked face.
“I…” Iruka began but was stopped when Kakashi gently placed a finger over his lips.
“Take tonight and think about it,” Kakashi said quietly. Iruka nodded. Slowly Kakashi leaned down to Iruka’s level and pulled his facemask down quickly, planting a delicate kiss on Iruka’s soft lips. Then in a puff of smoke he was gone and Iruka was left in the dark hallway alone.
“Why do you torture me so?” Iruka asked no one in particular as he reached up and touched his lips. A shiver ran through him like lightning at the thought of the scarecrow’s touch.
